Leaving the world of academia is often difficult, but Scott Rocklage moved gracefully from grad school into the professional world. Since he thought that he wanted to focus on chemistry, he took a position leading a small research team that studied a process that is known as homogeneous catalysis. As with all of his endeavors, he poured his heart and soul into the work. Ultimately, however, he realized that he would have more opportunities to affect real change by moving over to the business side of things.
